About me
Edward Georg Konradin Köchling
born 09.04.1992.

Having completed a successful training in the area of media studies, I graduated from the Applied University of Offenburg with three film productions. I continue to pursue collaborations for new film projects up to this date. I earns a living through professional photography, VJ performance, videography, multimedia installations and as a video technician.

Multimedia serves for me as a rebellion against the barriers between disciplines, media, and realms of experience. Art, to me, cannot—and should not—be confined to rigid categories. Instead, it thrives in the vibrant and unpredictable process of creation, which is fluid, dynamic, and ever-evolving. Through the process of my work, I aim therefore to transcend boundaries and embrace the complexities of life. I view the world not as a fixed structure to navigate passively, but as an open field brimming with possibilities—one that invites us to shape, reflect, and engage with it actively. This perspective drives my belief that art is not solely about the final result; it is about the journey, the process of creating, and the dialogue it inspires. I seek to capture and express the intricate layers of existence, offering glimpses into the chaos, beauty, and interconnectedness of life. My work is an invitation to explore, to question, and to see the world not as static but as a boundless canvas of potential.

The Search for Wholeness
As an multimedia artist, I feel the strong desire to capture the world in its entirety. However, reality is not linear or one-dimensional. It is a fabric of moments, emotions, thoughts, and relationships. A single medium is not enough to represent this complexity. By blending video, photography, painting, and sound, I can explore different facets of the human experience—both the static and the dynamic, the concrete and the abstract, the visible and the invisible. My goal is to piece together the fragments of life into a cohesive whole.
One way of doing this, for instance, is that I start with a painting, which I give birth to through many different layers in dialogue with the material. Then I illuminate it with psychedelic lights to create new videos, photos, or installations. In this regard, I see myself as a cow, a multimedia ruminant, where each stomach corresponds to a different medium. With each cycle, my artistic process expands, allowing my work to continually evolve.

The Freedom of Expression
Art is an invitation to attempt the impossible, to break the rules, and to forge new paths. When I paint, I am not bound by reality. When I write, I can create worlds that do not exist. And when I combine these media, something emerges that is unpredictable and thus greater than myself. It is a form of self-liberation—a way to free myself from the constraints of tradition and expectations and to forge my own path.
